Marine Captain Daniel B. Bartle, 27, of Ferndale, WA,was assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 363, Marine Aircraft Group 24, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III MEF, Kaneohe Bay, HI. CPT Bartle died in Helmand province, Afghanistan, when the CH-53D helicopter he was riding in crashed.
